Clemson’s Alumni Basketball Game set for Friday

Clemson men’s basketball will host an alumni game on February 24 at 7:00PM in Littlejohn Coliseum. As part of the 100th anniversary celebration of Clemson basketball, this event will feature many of the Tigers’ all-time greats. The event is free to the public and will feature an autograph session at the conclusion of the game.

The game will have two 20-minute (running clock) halves with a 10-minute halftime. Gates will open at 6:30 PM and seating is general admission. The list of players who are currently committed to playing or coaching are:

“Take the Field with the Tigers” Baseball Promotion

Concurrent with the 2012 Clemson Tiger baseball season, children ages 12 and younger will once again have the opportunity to take to the field with their favorite Clemson players before Sunday home games this spring.

Children will be allowed to experience the singing of the National Anthem alongside the Tigers at Doug Kingsmore Stadium prior to the start of those games.  Complimentary game ticket vouchers will also be offered for select games. They can be picked up at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Greenville or Spartanburg. 2012 Prowl and Growl Tour Dates Released

The 2012 Prowl and Growl Coaches Tour is approaching with the first meeting in April. This year’s Prowl and Growl Coaches Tour consists of 13 stops spanning 4 states running from early April through the end of May.  Last year the tour was a great success and it was because of you, our Clemson Family, who came out in large numbers to support our coaches. At this year’s meetings, you will have the opportunity to get autographs and hear from the coaches. IPTAY Donor Fan of the Game: Ken Buck

The IPTAY Donor Fan of the Game for the Men’s Basketball game versus Maryland is Ken Buck. Mr. Buck was raised and currently resides in Cordova, a small community outside of Orangeburg, SC. He did not attend Clemson, but earned an AAS in Criminal Justice from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. Mr. Buck is retired from the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCARNG) where he served for more than 38 years.  He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Five, Command Chief Warrant Officer for the SCARNG, the first to serve in this position in the SCARNG.  He also worked full-time for the SCARNG for more than 33 years. Mr. Buck has been an IPTAY Rep and County Chairman for approximately 20 years. His daughter Karen McFarlane, a 1989 graduate of Clemson, and her husband Dave reside in Summerville where she is in Property Management. Dave is employed with SPAWAR and is retired from the US Air Force. [Read more...]
