CLEMSON — After spending several games on the injured list, Clemson junior Austin Savage knew coming into Tuesday’s match against the Furman Paladins that as an upperclassman, he had to do something to contribute in order for his team to be successful.

CLEMSON — Despite a 4-0 loss to third-ranked Wake Forest on Sunday at Riggs Field, the afternoon was not all that bad for the Clemson women’s soccer team. That’s because more than two dozen kids were on hand to get autographs from their favorite Clemson Tigers after the match.

Aggression becoming mantra for men’s soccer

CLEMSON—Given his family ties to the Boston area, Clemson men’s soccer coach Mike Noonan felt a little extra satisfaction when his team knocked off 14th-ranked Boston College at home on Friday night.

More than that, he might have seen his team find its identity—a struggle that he and others within the program have been having for a long, long time.

Benediktsson, Tigers enjoying the taste for the dramatics

Making the game-winning goal, shot, hit or touchdown in any sport is something every athlete hopes to experience. Being “the one” to win the game is a feeling few athletes actually get to feel.

 

But for Clemson freshman Bryniar Benediktsson, this is something he has already experienced twice. Actually, he has experienced in the Tigers’ last two games.

CLEMSON — In a game that was more closely fought than the scoreboard read senior Ashlynne Bass did what she could on defense to keep the young Clemson Women’s Soccer team in the game.

An injury to fellow defensive starter Stacy Huddleston for the Tigers, and a few controversial play calls, put the Tigers in the hole quickly against fifth- ranked Boston College; however Bass continued to battle, playing with hustle and poise and didn’t let up until there was no time left on the clock.

Tigers not looking for sympathy

CLEMSON — Clemson Head Coach Eddie Radwanski was not looking for any sympathy following Thursday night’s 2-1 loss to 11th-ranked Maryland. Instead, the Tigers’ first-year coach wanted a victory, something he believed his team played well enough to earn at Historic Riggs Field.
